Candle Care Instructions
The soft scent. The quiet light. The slow silence. This is how a candle feels when it burns properly.
Caring for a candle isn’t just a set of rules — it’s a ritual. A gesture of presence. Of respect for the space, the moment, and yourself.
The first burn is the most important. Let the wax melt fully to the edges of the vessel. This may take a little longer — but it preserves the candle’s shape and lifespan. If the melt pool stays too narrow, the candle may tunnel — burning down the center and leaving wax along the sides. That shortens the life of the candle and dulls the fragrance.
Always trim the wick to 5 mm before lighting. This ensures a clean, steady burn — no smoke, no crackling, no soot. An overgrown wick can disturb the flame, create unwanted residue, and disrupt the atmosphere. A well-trimmed wick means clarity, calm, and less residue in the air.
Extinguish it gently. Use a snuffer instead of blowing it out. This avoids smoke, preserves the wick’s shape, and prevents wax splatter. It’s a small act — but in the world of KO`HANNA, beauty lives in the details.
Store your candle in stillness. Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. Heat and direct light can affect the color and diminish the fragrance. The ideal temperature is below 75°F (24°C). Where it’s calm — your candle will rest well too.
Avoid drafts. Even the finest candle won’t burn evenly in moving air. Let the flame remain quiet and centered — it’s part of the mood.
And always burn with care. Never leave a candle unattended. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. A ritual should be beautiful — and safe.
